The Gimli International Film Festival and Royal Bank of Canada are proud to announce our 2023 line-up for our legendary Beach Screenings!
A film viewing experience unlike any other!

We are famous for our 11 metre tall film screen that stands strong in the waters of Lake Winnipeg during our Festival. Every night during the GIFF, you have the chance to catch a flick (and maybe some Northern Lights) under the stars and on the beach. We showcase all genres of film including some vintage favourites.

Films commence at 10pm every night of the festival (except Sunday) pending weather conditions (Rain Venue: Dr. George Johnson Middle School). Please keep in mind that we have chair-free seating directly in front of the screen and a separate area for lawn/beach chairs. Please be courteous to others by using low sitting chairs, we want everyone to be able to enjoy the film.

Join us for contemporary hits and classic flicks on the beach, every night at dusk! As always, our films are ABSOLUTELY FREE at the RBC Sunset Screenings on Gimli Beach.

BEACH FILM TIPS:

• Shows start at dusk, but good spots go fast. Get there early!
• The marked-off area in front of the screen is the chair-free zone.
• If you bring a chair, make sure it’s low-profile as a courtesy to others.
• Mosquitoes are rare, but sometimes put in a cameo appearance, so be prepared.
• Bring layers as it may get chilly at night.
• Please respect other people’s space.
• Please respect the beach and keep it clean. No dogs allowed.
• Grab some goodies from the Snack Shack!
