Event Description

Explore Winnipeg Through Community-Led Walks
Explore Winnipeg like never before during Jane’s Walk Winnipeg 2026, happening from May 1 to May 3, 2026, at multiple locations across the city. This annual festival of free, citizen-led walking tours invites residents and visitors to discover neighbourhood stories, hidden gems, and local history through engaging, community-driven conversations.
Inspired by urbanist Jane Jacobs, Jane’s Walk is part of a global movement that encourages people to connect with their surroundings and each other. In Winnipeg, volunteers lead a variety of unique walks covering topics like historic streets, architecture, public art, culture, and community stories.
Free Walks Across Winnipeg Neighbourhoods
All walks are free and open to everyone, with routes taking place in different neighbourhoods throughout the city. Whether interested in local history, urban development, or simply exploring on foot, Jane’s Walk offers a fun and meaningful way to experience Winnipeg while meeting new people.
Participants can choose from a wide range of guided walks scheduled throughout the weekend, each offering a different perspective on Winnipeg’s communities. Walks typically last between 45 minutes to 2 hours and are designed to spark conversation, reflection, and a deeper appreciation of the places we live.
Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate community, storytelling, and urban exploration during one of Winnipeg’s most engaging free events of the year.
