Canada Day at Fort Gibraltar is a celebration of the history and culture of the fur trade era in Manitoba. It is held on July 1st every year at the reconstructed Fort Gibraltar, which was originally built by the North West Company in 1809 at the confluence of the Red and Assiniboine rivers12. Visitors can enjoy free entry to the fort and interact with historical interpreters who dress and act like it was 1815.
In previous years, visitors on Canada Day can experience various activities such as musket demonstrations, canoe races, Métis dancing, bannock making, and more. However, please note that activities for Canada Day 2023 have not been announced.
