Repeatedly doing dry runs to reach across Transcona and mapping a route to hit as many streets they can in one evening. It is impossible for Santa’s sleigh to do all areas. They change the route year to year so others areas experience Santa’s visit! \nWe are on Facebook to give everyone a heads up where he will be\, so that you may get out to meet him\, he moves fast so follow the map route that will be posted on our page\, to see when he visits your area. \nWeather\, sleigh issues and time are just a few challenges to this event…. so be patient\, we will do our best. \nWe hope we add to this magical time of the year. Fans are encouraged to arrive as early as 4:30 p.m. CT with the ceremony beginning at 5:15 p.m. CT. The ceremony will last approximately 30 minutes and is open to all fans with or without tickets to that night's game. \nThe article continues below \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\nThe event will include an address from Hawerchuk's wife Crystal\, the NHL's Sr. Vice President of Hockey Operations and former Winnipeg Jet Kris King\, former Canada Cup teammate and fellow Hockey Hall of Fame member Paul Coffey\, former Jets teammate Dave Ellett\, former Jets teammate and current Jets Associate Coach Scott Arniel\, and Jets forward Mark Scheifele\, to whom Hawerchuk was an influential coach and mentor. A live DJ and the Jets community team will remain on site between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. as fans are able to get a closer look at the statue and enter Canada Life Centre for the Jets vs. Oilers 7 p.m. puck drop. Both Oodena and The Gathering Space at Niizhoziibean will be maintained as quiet spaces for healing\, with Indigenous-led music\, dance\, and sacred fires. The last ceremony will be held at supper time. \nFrom 10AM to 6PM\, visit the Historic Rail Bridge (between Oodena and Niizhoziibean) to take part in tobacco tie workshops. \nThe article continues below \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\nThroughout The Forks \nBeginning at 1PM\, there will be four small pop-up stages located throughout The Forks site with family-friendly\, multicultural entertainment including hands-on activities\, music\, theatre\, and dance. These will run until 5PM. \nCN Field and Stage \nThis is the place to meet and eat with each other\, with picnic tables in the field and food trucks nearby. Feel free to bring your own picnics! Visitors will be entertained by a Manitoba Music-curated playlist and engage in various games. This area will run until about 7PM. \nThe Forks National Historic Site \nCome watch the Manitoba African Cup of Nations Soccer Tournament which will be played all afternoon.
