Workshop: Vintage Cruiser Hubs

July 28 @ 1:00 pm-4:00 pm

Workshop: Vintage Cruiser Hubs

VINTAGE CRUISERS (aka «Beach Bikes»); classic beauties, but dang they sure can be a challenge to repair!

Rear wheels on vintage cruisers are especially complex, as their hubs (the centre of the wheels) generally contain inside them either a back-pedal (coaster) brake OR an internal 3-speed «Sturmy-Archer» gear shifting mechanism (I know, I know, don’t worry, all will be explained in the workshop).

Basically, if you have ever ridden on or tried to repair a vintage cruiser wheel and wondered «now what the heck is goin’ on in there anyways?!» then this workshop is for you!

And if that particular thought has never occurred to you until now but you just think bikes are neat and want to learn more about how they work, then this workshop is for you!

All tools and instruction is provided, free of charge (donations welcome). All skill levels welcome (don’t be nervous we are all learning together!)
