The sākihiwē festival has launched a stellar slate of music performances for a virtual festival experience this year. Running November 25-28 via Facebook and YouTube, the programming features premieres of collaborations with filmmakers across the country and video from summer pop-up concerts alongside community partners Ka Ni Kanichihk, Central Neighbourhoods Winnipeg, the Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre, and the Spence Neighbourhood Association.

Performers include acclaimed local favourites Boogey The Beat, Burnstick, Caid Jones, Ernest Monias, Geronimo Inutiq, Ila Barker, Leonard Sumner, Nikki Komaksiutiksak, and Victoria Turko, along with rising star Tia Wood, singer/songwriter Jayli Wolf, Igloolik’s Angela Amarualik, pop luminary Prado, hard rock duo Miesha & The Spanks, changemaker Angel Baribeau, indie rockers The Crashfields, folk artist Aysanabee, and nêhiyaw singer Wyatt C. Louis.

Music fans can tune in for the online premieres of individual performances plus share and rewatch the videos online for the next three months. Check out the schedule below (all times in CT) and be sure to tune in!
