Build a Traditional Winter Shelter

Join a Park Interpreter for a hands-on Quinzhee Building Workshop at Birds Hill Provincial Park. Recommended for adults and youth ages 8+, this interpretive experience teaches the proper techniques for building a safe snow quinzhee and explains why Indigenous peoples favoured quinzhees over igloos on the prairies.

Hands-On Learning & Bannock Over the Fire

While the quinzhee rests, participants will enjoy making bannock and cooking it over a fire. This workshop blends outdoor skills, cultural learning, and winter fun in a welcoming group setting.
