International Trails Day: Off The Beaten (Cornish) Path

Winnipeg Trails event for International Trails Day!

Every year we celebrate International Trails Day as a way of recognizing the contributions of trails to a community and to a city.

OFF THE BEATEN (CORNISH) PATH Walking Tour #ITD2018

The walk will highlight Winnipeg’s history, (homelessness) housing crisis, hidden trails, and much more. Weaving along the Cornish Path, participants will gain insight into the city’s past, the issues affecting our neighbours/neighbourhoods, and the path least taken. I invite you to join me for a walk along the Assiniboine River Bank.

Walk Leader:
Choi Ho (look for me: I will be lugging my yellow water bottle and carrying a backpack/tote on me)

Cost:
FREE, I’ll accept high-fives/hugs and as few history questions asked to me as possible.

Date:
Saturday June 23rd, 2018 (rain or shine)

Start Time:
2pm

Meet Point: 
Osborne Bridge (North side of bridge closer to the Legislature grounds by the bicycle/pedestrian traffic signal) –

***if raining, meet under the bridge***

End Point:
Corner of The East Gates/Cornish Avenue

Walking Tour Length :
1 to 1.5 hours (just over 1km)

Accessibility:
Partial Accessibility (most of the walk is along the Assiniboine River Bank thus uneven surfaces, dirt/muddy paths, and single file in some portions. Children, pets, bikes and the likes, front/back strollers, etc are ALL welcome.

Bus Routes:
Closest Stops on Osborne: 16, 18, 60 and Off Broadway: 10, 17, 20, 29

Bring:
family, friends, loved ones, sun protection, water, walking/hiking footwear, umbrella/rain gear, smiles and excitement to hit the trail
