Exciting free activities for 2018 Culture Days Manitoba at Forum Art Centre, 120 Eugenie Street. International Artists Exhibitions opening reception: Friday, September 28th from 7 – 10 pm. Continues Saturday, September 29th from 4 – 8 pm. Free workshops are: Orchid Painting – Fri., Sept.28 from 8 – 8:40 pm; Mexican Folklore card painting – Sat., Sept. 29th from 11 – 11:45 am & 12 – 12:45 pm; Critter Creations with Sculpting Medium – Sat. International Artists Exhibition – Our Three International Artists are: Daniela Ocaña from Mexico, Jin Young Park from Korea & Helena Sabados from Russia. More details at:
We’re celebrating our first international artists show by featuring three women artists from the Forum Art Centre. As successful artists in their countries of origin they have exhibited their art at home as well as in Canada. Recognized as skilled artists they are sharing their passion by instructing art workshops and classes in their own style of art in many mediums – both traditional to their country and contemporary.

Orchid Painting with Korean artist Jin Young Park – Friday, September 28, 8:00 – 8:40 pm – Jin will be teaching a watercolour workshop in her style of painting on rice paper. She’ll lead you through the painting of an orchid that will be influenced by her Korean tradition of art styles using ink and watercolour mediums.

Mexican Folklore Card Painting with Mexican artist Daniela Ocaña – Saturday, September 29, 11:00 – 11:45 am and 12:00 – 12:45 pm – Create your own Mexican style watercolour card in this mini workshop. Daniela is an artist inspired by her Mexican family traditions to influence her colourful art using the flowing expression of the watercolour medium. This activity is for ages 12 and up.

Critter Creations with Sculpting Medium with Manitoba artist sculptor Bob Dann – Saturday, September 29, 1 – 2:20 and 2:30 – 4 – Create your own wee critters using an easy to sculpt material with the guidance of Winnipeg artist Bob Dann. Bob has been sculpting larger critters using clay for over 25 years and you can ask him any art related questions while you follow along. Your creation is yours to keep or give to someone special. Enjoy this family activity for all ages over 5 able to understand some simple instructions with patience.
