Cribbage returns to the Heather Curling Club!

My name is Lyndon, I’ve lived in Winnipeg for the past 20 years. I’ve been playing cribbage off and on probably since I was 10 Years Old. My dad taught me how to play and he usually stole points from me back in the day, now I steal points from him. HA. I joined a cribbage group in early 2019, really enjoyed play with the group. It was on Wilton (Check this group out on Meetup). However, my work schedule changed since that year and late 2021 and early 2022, my dream was to host my own cribbage nights.

So, I started buying cribbage boards and cards and now have a great stock for large groups. Then I had to find a venue, where I don’t have to pay any cost to rent a venue and supply my own drinks and food. I was contacted in late 2021 or early 2022, I believe by the President of the Heather Curling Club and was suggested to contact Rob to see if I can do cribbage nights. We were still in the middle of COVID so, I didn’t message right way, but in early 2023, I sent an email to Rob, and we had a phone call chat as well. I went to see the Curling Club and the rest is history.

We are still a small group, but I am ready to have a large group. I could host up to 80 players.

We recently had Winnipeg Free Press at the Heather Curling Club on Oct 25th, to do a story on the cribbage nights. The article was in the November 10th paper. The online version is updated with photos of myself

Event Details
We play in an area of the club’s fully licensed restaurant, they have some good selections on their menu, feel free to come before and have a bite to eat. You can bring your own water.

No cost to play currently.

***No Age limit, however, it’s not wheelchair accessible. ****

All skills welcome. Cards and boards are provided. I also provide name tags.

If you’re a beginner or haven’t played in a while, that’s fine, come on out and we will help you. If you have been playing for many years that’s great as well, come bring your skills and also help those that need some help

We play in partners, where winners move to the next table and switch with one that didn’t win. You don’t need to bring a partner either, come solo and you’ll join a table. This is just a fun night to meet people.

Depending on group size, there may be a chance where one or two tables have a game of 3 players, if this is the case, the top two players move on. This way every table has two new players.
