This walking tour will explore public art that considers monuments, changing history, and Winnipeg’s identity

This tour will begin in the Jardin de sculptures (sculpture garden) at 219 Provencher Boulevard and focus on how public art can express and represent our histories, and how changing perceptions of history can change interpretations of art. Content warning that some of these histories reference residential schools and violence.

We will visit:

  • Monument by Michel de Broin
  • Louis Riel Statue by Marcien Lemay
  • Phare Ouest (Far West) by Marcel Gosselin
  • Stephen Juba Park
  • High Five by Jennifer Stillwell
  • Lights on the Exchange
  • Bloody Saturday by Noam Gonick and Bernie Miller

Tours will run as scheduled rain or shine but will be cancelled in the event of a thunderstorm. Please note this tour is not a loop; see map for details.

Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible; tour takes place on walking paths, conditions may vary. No facilities available on walk.
