7-Eleven Pays Tribute to Slurpee Fans with Street Named in Their Honour

The City of Winnipeg has designated a block of Rouge Road between Portage Avenue and Byrd Avenue with the honourary name of ‘Slurpee Way’. For the 19th year in a row, Manitoba was named the Slurpee Capital of the World, proving that Manitobans have a special sense of Slurpee pride. As a way to honour their most loyal fans, 7-Eleven Canada will throw the block party of the year featuring live DJ and entertainment, a wing eating competition and even an appearance by Mr. Slurpee, in addition to giving away free small Birthday Slurpee drinks and birthday cake.
On Wednesday, July 11th, Manitobans are invited to stop by the Portage Avenue 7-Eleven store and join the party. Fans can snap a picture in front of the world’s largest Slurpee Cup, while enjoying live music, balloon artists, face painters and more. A wide variety of Slurpee flavours will be available, including limited-time-only flavours Maynards Sour Patch Kids Watermelon, Dole Raspberry Lemon, and Crush Gummie Bear Slurpee – only at 7-Eleven.
