July 1 at The Forks is a celebration of the people, cultures, and traditions that make Canada home.
As Canada Day at The Forks approaches, visitors can look forward to a full day of free events throughout the site that will bring people together through music, storytelling, art and shared experiences.
Programming begins at 10:30 AM with a welcoming ceremony at Oodena Circle, followed by the citizenship ceremony at 11:00 AM. Visitors can write love notes, join a drum café, experience storytelling, enjoy cultural performances, and participate in hands-on activities for all ages. The day concludes at CN Stage and Field, where visitors will enjoy a Sobr Market Patio and Turtle Island games while listening to live music featuring Mitchell Makoons, Brandi Vezina, TommyPHYLL, and headliner The Irvin Miller Band.
Programming throughout the day includes the All Nations Welcoming Ceremony, Citizenship Ceremony, Handmade Market & Food Vendors, Turtle Island Games, Sobr Market Patio, Pihtikwé: Decked Out, North Star Dance Festival, Wàhkóhtowin Youth Stage, On The Land storytelling sessions, A Love Notes Cypher, Cultural Performances, Winnipeg Fire Service Fire Truck, Drum Café, Smudge & Closing Ceremony, and Live Music.
Visitors can enjoy music, storytelling, art, cultural performances, interactive workshops, family activities, Indigenous teachings, handcrafted goods, food vendors, and live entertainment throughout the site.
The evening live music lineup at CN Stage features Osani Balkaran, Mitchell Makoons, Brandi Vezina, TommyPHYLL, and headliner The Irvin Miller Band.

Many Nations, One Heartbeat – Wáhkóhtowin is 11 days of programming from National Indigenous Peoples Day (June 21) to Canada Day (July 1).
With increased visitor traffic on Canada Day, visitors are encouraged to leave the car at home and bike, walk, paddle, take Winnipeg Transit, or carpool or rideshare to The Forks. If you must drive, consider parking downtown or in St. Boniface and walking to the site.
There are no fireworks at The Forks on Canada Day. Canada Day programming wraps up at 9:00 PM on the CN Stage with headliner The Irvin Miller Band taking the stage at 7:45 PM.
