Light up the Labour Day long weekend at the Winnipeg Lantern Festival, happening September 5–6, 2026, in Winnipeg’s Exchange District.
Organized by Foodtrip Market, the second Winnipeg Lantern Festival brings together illuminated lantern displays, cultural performances, live entertainment, food vendors, local artisans, lantern activities and family-friendly fun for a colourful celebration of culture, creativity and community.

The celebration begins early with a special Design & Hang Your Lantern activity at Old Market Square during First Fridays on September 4 from 5 PM–9 PM. Visitors can decorate a paper lantern with artwork, messages or their own creative designs and add it to the community installation.
The Winnipeg Lantern Festival is free to attend. Food, merchandise and other purchases from participating vendors are available at an additional cost.
